Penhaligon Picks.

A man has his distinctive personal scent which his wife, his children and his dog can recognize. A crowd has a generalized stink. The public is odourless.

W H Auden (1907 – 1973)

The esteemed English fragrance house Penhaligon’s has been helping men ascend the masses since the 1860’s, offering truly decadent colognes for any gentleman whatever his olfactive palette. Colognes that have and will continue to stand the test of time. Colognes that become staples in his grooming itinerary.

Here at DandyFantastic we’ve rifled through the Penhaligon collection and selected the best of a brilliant bunch, fragrance’s that will take you from day to night and back again.

For those with a love of heritage Blenheim Bouquet would be a most fitting match.

Made over 100 years ago this fragrance remains surprisingly modern, elegance drips from every one of its citrusy, spicy and woody notes. Wonderfully suited for late afternoon drinks and early evening jaunts around town.

The undoubtedly nocturnal scent, Endymion, opens to a crescendo of mandarin which mellows to reveal its deep coffee heart flourished with nutmeg and cardamom. Inspired from the myth of the eponymous Endymion and Moon.

For any gentlemen wishing for respite from headier colognes, Penhaligon’s Quercus could be just the remedy. It would make for a wonderful accompaniment to breakfast on the porch with its delicate notes of basil, citrus and jasmine.

Having quite the obessession with eau de colognes, (my collection is reaching 50) I myself intend on investing in a bottle of Endymion.

Do let me know what your favourite scents are.
